The Ministry of Education has issued a statement regarding the giving of flower bouquets to teachers on September 1 – Knowledge Day. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The ministry noted that giving flowers to a teacher on September 1 is a good tradition. However, it should not become an obligation, a competition, or an unnecessary expense. The most important thing is not the size or price of the bouquet, but the child's respect for their teacher.
The department warned that giving flowers should be a voluntary choice of each child and parent. The official statement says that educational organizations should not initiate the purchase of flowers or gifts, organize fundraising, or oblige parents to do so.
The ministry reminded that the main goal is to hold the first day at school without pomp, warmly and with educational meaning, instilling in children respect for the teacher, modesty, and kindness.
