The Ministry of Internal Affairs has warned that wearing clothing that hinders facial recognition in public places is prohibited. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
A specific norm is contained in paragraph 3 of Article 75 of the Law on Prevention of Offenses. According to it, wearing clothing that covers the face in a way that prevents visual identification is considered an offense.
Article 434-3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses establishes penalties: for a first offense – a warning; for a repeat within one year – a fine of 10 MCI (43,250 tenge).
"We emphasize that the ban is aimed solely at ensuring public safety and applies to any type of clothing that hides the face," police said.
It is noteworthy that this restriction does not apply to weather conditions and medical recommendations. It is also permitted to wear such clothing while performing official duties, participating in sports and cultural events.
