A Kazakh national who had been wanted for five years has been extradited from abroad. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Prosecutor General's Office, on 2 October 2026, the National Security Committee of Kazakhstan, in cooperation with the National Central Bureau of Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and under the coordination of the Prosecutor General's Office, delivered a citizen of Kazakhstan who had been on the international wanted list to the city of Astana.
The individual is suspected of committing large-scale fraud and had been evading justice since 2021.
The detained person has now been placed in a pre-trial detention center.
According to Part 1 of Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code, no other information is subject to disclosure, the committee said.
