Kazakh striker Dastan Satpayev of Burnley has suffered another hamstring injury. According to the team's new head coach Fabio Celestini, the return timeline for the 18-year-old footballer is still unknown. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Due to the injury, Satpayev was not included in Burnley's squad for the Championship match against Portsmouth, which ended in a 0-0 draw. That match was Celestini's first in charge of the English club.

"He has a problem with his hamstring, a muscle injury. We have to deal with it together – step by step, day by day. And then we'll see what happens. It's very difficult to say how long he will be out. I've only been here 48 hours and I have a lot of information, but probably not all of it," Celestini was quoted as saying by Burnley Express.

The coach also noted that Burnley is working on Satpayev's situation together with Chelsea, which holds the rights to the Kazakh footballer.

Satpayev had only recently returned from a previous hamstring injury. His recovery was monitored by Chelsea, and his playing time was increased gradually. In the last match under previous coach Nicky Hayen, the Kazakh made his first start since returning and spent about an hour on the pitch.

In addition, Satpayev was not included in Kazakhstan's squad for the November Nations League matches.

Recall that Celestini took charge of Burnley on October 29, replacing Hayen, who was dismissed after a 1-4 defeat to Lincoln City. Before moving to England, the Swiss specialist worked with CSKA, Basel, Luzern and Lausanne.

After 13 rounds, Burnley sits 22nd in the Championship with nine points and is in the relegation zone.
