In Northern Ireland, a second night of violence erupted in Belfast after a stabbing incident. Police on Wednesday used water cannons against protesters who set small fires and hurled bricks, rocks and bottles. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Associated Press.

Sudanese national Hadi Alodid, 30, appeared in court charged with attempted murder in a stabbing attack in Belfast that left a man seriously injured. He appeared via videolink at Belfast Magistrates Court.

The unrest began on Lendrick Street in east Belfast, where protesters set vehicles on fire. Resident Jamie Corrie showed his burnt-out house. In Newtownabbey, police fired a water cannon at rioters who set fire to wheelie bins and used a garden fence as a shield against the water cannon.

Police are investigating the incident. The Sudanese man has been charged with attempted murder.
