Secretary General of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) Talatbek Masadykov said Belarus reliably controls the situation on the border with Western countries and works closely with the organization's representatives. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
In an interview with RIA Novosti, Masadykov recalled that in June this year he visited sections of the Belarusian-Polish and Belarusian-Lithuanian borders. He also held a working meeting with the chairman of the Belarusian State Border Committee.
"The Belarusian side reliably controls the situation," the Secretary General said. Masadykov explained that the CSTO has full information about all actions in the region, plans its work accordingly, and closely cooperates with the Russian and Belarusian sides.
Earlier, RIA Novosti reported that Poland was conducting military exercises on July 13 and 14 near the borders of Russia and Belarus.
