A narrow-format meeting of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council was held in Cholpon-Ata under the chairmanship of Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The meeting was attended by heads of EAEU member states. They discussed tasks to maintain macroeconomic stability in the region, enhance economic potential, improve living standards, develop mutual trade, and remove barriers in the Union's markets.
Olzhas Bektenov noted that within Kazakhstan's chairmanship of the EAEU bodies, the country consistently supports the development of artificial intelligence, creation of logistics hubs, digitalization of industry and agro-industrial complex, ensuring barrier-free trade, and building global dialogue with external partners.
"I am confident that the agreements reached following today's meeting will make a significant contribution to the implementation of the goals set within the EAEU and further strengthening of mutually beneficial cooperation," said Bektenov.
The narrow-format meeting also addressed food security of member states and further development of trade and economic cooperation with the EAEU's main trading partners. Participants exchanged views on creating favorable conditions for EAEU goods to enter new markets.
