Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov ordered the completion of repair works in hundreds of schools by September 1. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
By the end of the year, construction of 64 schools must be completed. And by September 1, akimats must complete major and current repairs in 106 schools.
"I note that in a number of regions, work on 13 schools is slow. Among them are Almaty city, Abai, Akmola, West Kazakhstan and other regions. I instruct the akims of these regions to take direct control of the timely completion of repair works," Bektenov said at today's government meeting.
In addition, before the start of the new school year, 500 subject classrooms in physics, chemistry, biology, and robotics must be equipped. "In total, by the end of the year, more than 1,400 special classrooms need to be installed in the country's schools. A number of regions must promptly resolve financing issues," the prime minister said.
Bektenov instructed to pay special attention to this issue primarily in Almaty, Karaganda, North Kazakhstan, Atyrau, Ulytau and Akmola regions.
