Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov commented on the quality of this year's harvested grain. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
This season was not easy for farmers. Drought affected a number of regions, raising concerns about grain yields.
"However, thanks to the measures taken, yields are expected to be above the average level. More than 74% of the wheat delivered for storage has good gluten content, grade three and higher. The use of modern agricultural technologies and timely application of fertilizers are producing concrete results," Bektenov said at today's government meeting.
The task now is to complete the harvest on time and preserve the collected crop.
"It is necessary to ensure the full readiness of elevators and grain storage facilities, as well as capacities for drying wheat. It is also necessary to take all appropriate measures to avoid grain losses and prevent deterioration in quality. Weather must not affect the pace of work, the quality and volume of the crop," the prime minister emphasized.
