Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov held a meeting on the digital transformation of the labor and social protection of the population. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
"We must maintain open accounting of support measures and ensure assessment of their concrete final results. This is the main task of the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population," said Olzhas Bektenov.
At the meeting, Minister of Labor and Social Protection of the Population Askarbek Yertayev and Vice Minister Bakhtiyar Zhazykpayev presented the main digital solutions.
According to the minister, in 2025 the living conditions of 480,355 needy families improved, and they were transferred to the category with high welfare. Since the beginning of 2026, another 464,158 families have been transferred to this category.
"With regard to citizens with high welfare, work was carried out jointly with akimats to verify household data. For citizens in this category, the changes will affect only 14 of the 36 types of social payments. For the remaining 22 types, the existing payment mechanisms are preserved," clarified Askarbek Yertayev.
Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov instructed that the calculator designed to determine the welfare level of families by automatically filling in data in state information systems be made convenient for citizens.
According to the ministry, as part of the development of the Unified Digital Platform, a revision was carried out of 66 social assistance measures that had previously been fragmented.
"Based on its results, 38 partially duplicative measures at the central and local levels were optimized, and the remaining 28 measures were merged into 13 large areas with unified assignment criteria throughout the country," the statement says.
According to the Ministry of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, the system makes it possible to monitor the entire period of social support provision – from submitting an application to actually receiving the payment. It also creates conditions for tracking the number of recipients.
The functionality for accepting applications for social support measures and assigning them on the Unified Digital Platform was launched in June. Since then, more than 55,000 applications worth more than 2.5 billion tenge have been received. Of these, applications worth more than 1.8 billion tenge were reviewed and approved.
