Kazakh freestyle wrestler Bekasyl Asambek (61 kg), losing in the final to American Aaron James Seidel 0:7, climbed to the second step of the podium at the Youth World Championships in Greco-Roman, freestyle, and women's wrestling. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

With the same score of 10:0, Asambek won by a clear advantage over Chinese Anchao Lu, Ukrainian Artem Tesnokhuz, and Zelimkhan Chaniev from Russia. In a tough semifinal, the Kazakh defeated Japanese Itsuki Yonashiro – 3:1. The final became silver for Bekasyl.

Today, bronze medal in the weight category up to 68 kg was won by our Uldana Tileukhan, who won the bout for 3rd place against Ukrainian Alexandra Rybak – 4:2.

Askhab Khadzhiev (86 kg) lost to Japanese Natsure Okazawa – 0:10 in the bronze medal match.

Until this evening, Kazakhstan's only medal in Bratislava was the gold of Greco-Roman wrestler Kyzybek Kalmagambetov in the category up to 67 kg.

The world championship under the auspices of the International Wrestling Federation (UWW), held in the capital of Slovakia, features 700 young athletes. They compete for 120 medals in three types of wrestling – Greco-Roman, freestyle, and women's.

Kazakhstan is represented in Bratislava by 30 athletes – 20 boys and 10 girls.
