A cultural action 'Dombyra Party' organized by the Kazakhstan Cultural Center was held on the banks of the Liangmahe River in Beijing to mark the National Dombyra Day. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Under the open sky, works by Kurmangazy, Abai, Abdimomyn Zheldibayev, as well as folk kuis were performed. The event was attended by Kazakh and Chinese young dombyra players, students, representatives of the Kazakh diaspora, and local residents.
According to the Ministry of Culture and Information, one of the memorable moments of the action was the performance of Chinese children led by dombyra teacher Liu Hui. The young musicians performed Kazakh kuis, demonstrating the growing interest in the dombyra and Kazakhstan's musical heritage beyond the country's borders.
