Firefighting efforts continue in the West Kazakhstan region after a natural fire broke out in the Uralsk forestry area. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

Helicopters from Kazaviaspas JSC of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and Kazaviaforest Protection RSE of the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan have been deployed for aerial firefighting.

"Firefighting operations are complicated by gusty winds. Nevertheless, units continue the necessary work to fully extinguish the fire," the statement said.

About 80 people, 10 units of ground equipment, and 2 helicopters have been involved in containing the fire. With the help of aviation, 46 water drops totaling 68 tons of water have been carried out.
