Oil production at one of the fields in West Kazakhstan is planned to increase fivefold. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to EmbaMunaiGas, a gas treatment unit with an annual capacity of 80 million cubic meters is scheduled to be commissioned at the South-East Novobogat field this year. "This project will open the way for stable supplies of additional commercial and liquefied hydrocarbon gas to the domestic market and will allow increasing oil production at the field from 20,000 tons to 110,000 tons per year," the statement said.
At the West Karasor field, which began development last year, proven oil reserves are 2 million tons. In the first six months of 2026, more than 37,000 tons of oil were produced there.
Also, in 2025, the first start-up complex with a design capacity of 200 million cubic meters of gas per year was put into operation at the West Proryv field. In the second phase of the project, in 2027, it is planned to increase this figure to 920 million cubic meters per year.
