Three teenagers drowned in West Kazakhstan while swimming in a prohibited area. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The incident occurred on the evening of June 9. The teenagers were swimming in the Chagan River, 30 kilometers from Uralsk. Two of them were born in 2008, the third in 2009.
Rescuers found the bodies of two teenagers, the search for the third continues. Thirty rescuers and 10 pieces of equipment are working at the scene.
The regional emergency department urges citizens to follow safety rules on water bodies. Swimming in prohibited areas is not allowed.
