The Ministry of Energy has commented on the tense situation with auto gas at filling stations in the Mangystau and Atyrau regions. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the ministry, supplies of auto gas to the western regions are stable and exceed the estimated needs of the regions.
According to the Ministry of Energy, for June, 19,500 tons of liquefied petroleum gas were sent to the Mangystau region, against the akimat's stated demand of 18,000 tons. An additional 1,500 tons were allocated from the resources of SNPS-Aktobemunaigas JSC to cover increased demand. The ministry noted that these volumes are sufficient to supply both local vehicles and transit traffic, with shipments continuing daily.
For the Atyrau region, with an estimated demand of 9,000 tons of gas for June, more than 11,600 tons were sent. Due to the planned preventive shutdown of the Atyrau Oil Refinery, supply routes were adjusted in advance, and reserve volumes were directed to the region. Thus, the excess over demand is more than 2,500 tons.
The ministry also denied reports of a possible link between local disruptions and an alleged decline in production at the Karachaganak field, emphasizing that planned work at the facility does not affect the domestic supply of fuels and lubricants.
The Ministry of Energy assured that the situation with auto gas supply is under constant control of the ministry and local executive bodies, and deliveries to consumers are carried out as normal.
Earlier, media reported a tense situation at gas stations in the Mangystau region. Many wrote that several stations were closed, while others had huge queues.
