Astana's Barys won 4:1 against Moscow Dynamo in the final game of its four-match road trip across Russia in the KHL 2026/27 season. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The first away trip of the KHL 2026/27 season along the route Tolyatti – Magnitogorsk – Yaroslavl – Moscow was generally successful for the Astana team. After losing to Metallurg, they convincingly defeated Lada, Gagarin Cup holder Lokomotiv, and Dynamo.

A curious pattern has emerged since the start of the regular season. If Barys opens the scoring, it invariably wins. Today's game at VTB Arena was no exception.

Defenseman of the guests' second line Samat Daniyar was involved in one way or another in the first three goals of the match. At the start of the second period, he and Dynamo's Sergei Zborovsky were sent off for a scuffle near Vladislav Podyapolsky's goal. In 4-on-4 format, our Canadian Garrett Pilon opened the scoring – 1:0.

Five minutes later, Muscovite Nikita Korostelyov converted a power play after Daniyar's penalty – 1:1. However, six minutes later, the same Daniyar assisted the same Pilon, and Garrett, completing a double, put Barys ahead again – 2:1.

🏒 DYNAMO (Moscow, Russia) – BARYS (Astana, Kazakhstan) 1:4 (0:0, 1:2, 0:2)

Goals: Pilon (Massey, Bailey) 22:32 (0:1), Korostelyov (Pylenkov, Sicura) 27:43-PP (1:1), Pilon (Daniyar, McCoshen) 33:25 (1:2), Massey (Lyapunov, Logvin) 45:15 (1:3), Bailey (Massey, Morelli) 58:37-EN (1:4)

The goal drought lasted a dozen playing minutes, after which, in the third period, defenseman Jake Massey scored the third goal. Thus supporting his fellow defenseman Daniyar – 3:1.

At the end of the match, the white-and-blues launched an assault on Andrei Shutov's goal, replacing the goalkeeper with a field player. However, they achieved nothing. Moreover, the top scorer of the Astana team, Justin Bailey, scored into the empty net – 4:1.

Having secured their fifth win of the championship, Mikhail Kravets' charges rose to third place in the Eastern Conference.

The KHL regular championship, which started on September 5, will last until March 20, 2027. Each of the 22 teams will play 68 games. Based on the regular season results, 8 teams from each conference earn the right to participate in the playoffs for the Gagarin Cup.

After completing the first away trip of the 2026/27 season, Barys will play two games in Astana.
