Kazakhstan's Ministry of Emergency Situations reported that rescuers assisted a Chinese citizen who twisted his ankle while walking in the Bolshoye Almatinskoye Gorge and could not continue the route on his own. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to the ministry, the tourist was in the mountains with two women. A rescue crew from the BAU Emergency Rescue Service was dispatched to the scene.
Specialists found the group on a slope, provided first aid to the injured man and carried him down on an "Akya" stretcher to an ambulance.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that an Emergencies Ministry helicopter evacuated a tourist from Germany from a high-mountain area in the Almaty region. The foreign tourist injured his arm while climbing Satpayev Peak in the mountains of the Almaty region and could not descend on his own. As a result, the man had to be evacuated.
