The Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources has denied information about the release of a tiger into the wild, which was accompanied by a photo on social media. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The ministry's statement says that a photo with the claim that a tiger was released into the wild on the territory of the Ile-Balkhash State Nature Reserve is circulating on social media. This information is false.
According to the ministry, the published photo may have been created using artificial intelligence. The female tiger released into the wild is equipped with a satellite GPS collar. Specialists of the Ile-Balkhash reserve monitor its location and condition around the clock. Therefore, information about the animal being "accidentally photographed" is not true.
The ministry urged citizens and media representatives not to spread unverified information and to rely only on official sources.
