The large-scale modernization of Balkhash Hospital, carried out using recovered assets, has been completed. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Thus, residents of the cities of Balkhash, Priozersk, the village of Sayak, as well as Shet and Aktogay districts, have gained access to new opportunities for diagnosis and treatment in the renovated buildings. The hospital has 340 beds and includes almost all specialized departments.
Under the national project for the modernization of rural healthcare, a new annex with an area of approximately 1,400 square meters was built adjacent to the main building. It houses a modern emergency department that meets all current standards.
In terms of staffing, about 900 employees currently work there, including about 150 doctors. This year, the team was joined by a traumatologist, two radiology specialists, and two interventional cardiologists.
After completing residency, several more specialists are expected to arrive, including a urologist, surgeon, and therapists. Medical centers operate in the resort villages of Torangalyk and Shubartubek, where both local residents and tourists can seek medical care.
