A court in the Sairam district of the Turkistan region has sentenced a young woman who killed her newborn baby. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the regional court, she hid her pregnancy from relatives and was not registered at any medical facility. In December 2025, she gave birth at her home in the Sairam district.
"She gave birth in the toilet of the house, threw the baby into the toilet pit, and did nothing to keep the child alive. To hide the baby's body, she threw sand mixed with stones over the newborn," the court said.
In court, the defendant fully admitted her guilt. By the court's verdict, she was found guilty under Article 100 of the Criminal Code and sentenced to 2 years of restriction of freedom.
