An open-air show by the Puerto Rican music star Bad Bunny was abandoned in Italy on Saturday night because of a violent hailstorm, but the organizer said ticketholders would be reimbursed. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing The Guardian.
Videos posted on social media showed large hailstones hitting people at the sold-out show, along with strong winds and driving rain, after the star began his set at Milan's Snai La Maura Hippodrome.
"Due to adverse weather conditions, including thunderstorms and hail, Bad Bunny's concert scheduled for 18 July at the Snai La Maura Hippodrome in Milan was interrupted and the area was safely evacuated," the ticket operator Live Nation wrote on its website on Sunday.
All ticketholders would receive full refunds, it added.
Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, is one of the most popular Latin music performers in the world. His 2025 album "Debí Tirar Más Fotos" received critical acclaim. The concert was part of his European tour.
The Snai La Maura Hippodrome in Milan is known as a venue for horse racing and major music events. Many fans had gathered for the concert, but the sudden deterioration of weather forced the show to stop.
Organizers took timely safety measures and managed to evacuate all spectators. There is no information about injuries. The refund process is expected to begin in the coming days.
This incident once again highlights the dependence of open-air concerts on weather conditions. Fans of the artist expressed disappointment on social media about the cancellation but supported the safety measures.
Live Nation stated that it will soon publish full details about the refunds. A rescheduling of the concert is not currently planned.
