The Bureau of National Statistics named cities where socially significant food products became cheaper. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to official data, over the week, potatoes (2.8%), tomatoes (2.4%), apples (1.9%), cucumbers (1.2%), chicken meat (0.1%), carrots, sour cream and black tea (0.2%) became cheaper.
Prices for flour, bread, horse meat, beef with bone, as well as pasteurized, ultra-pasteurized and sterilized milk remained unchanged.
Which cities saw price drops?
Cities where socially significant food products became cheaper:
- 01Pavlodar – 0.4%;
- 02Almaty, Shymkent and Aktau – 0.2%;
- 03Konayev and Kostanay – 0.1%.
In Astana, Aktobe, Zhezkazgan, Kokshetau, Karaganda, Kyzylorda, Taraz and Turkistan, prices remained at the level of the previous week.
Average prices
Currently, the average price of cucumbers in the republic is 495 tenge. The lowest price was recorded in Taraz, where a kilogram of cucumbers can be bought for 339 tenge.
The average price of potatoes is 275 tenge. The cheapest potatoes are sold in Turkistan: 219 tenge per kilogram.
The lowest price for first-category eggs was recorded in Oral (475 tenge) and Kyzylorda (477 tenge).
