The first Open Asian Cup in eagle hunting is taking place in the village of Bozanbay, Ulan district, East Kazakhstan region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The "Shygys Salburyany – 2026" festival, now in its fifth edition, brings together 176 eagle hunters and more than 50 people who train tazy dogs.
The large-scale competition, which began at the "Burkittobe" ethno-complex in the village of Bozanbay, aims to promote the hunting traditions of the Kazakh people and showcase national heritage at the international level.
In addition to Kazakhstan, participants have gathered from Turkey, Russia, China, Hungary, Spain, Georgia, Mongolia, Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan.
Fifty snow-white yurts have been set up at the ethno-complex. Guests were introduced to the customs and traditions, culture and crafts of the Kazakh people, as well as the history and tourism potential of the region's cities and districts.
