The U.S. S&P 500 rose 0.4% to 5,432.10, and the Nasdaq 100 gained 0.6% to 19,876.34, driven by a recovery in tech stocks.
Oil prices fell: Brent crude dropped 0.8% to $85.23 per barrel, and WTI crude fell 0.9% to $81.45 per barrel, as geopolitical tensions around Iran eased.
In currency markets, the dollar weakened: the euro rose to $1.0845, and the Japanese yen stood at 159.87 yen per dollar.
