The Ministry of Tourism and Sports has determined the athletes who will carry Kazakhstan's flag at the Asian Games. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Minister of Tourism and Sports Yerbol Myrzabosynov met with athletes of the national teams ahead of the XX Summer Asian Games.
Currently, about 80 percent of Kazakhstan's delegation is in Japan.
The reason is that this year a new approach has been introduced into the national team's preparation system.
According to it, a significant part of the training camps is organized directly in the country hosting the Asian Games.
"This decision was made so that athletes can adapt in advance to local conditions before the competition starts, get used to the time zone, climatic conditions and the specifics of the competitive environment. In addition, in Japan the athletes' readiness is checked and necessary adjustments are made to pre-competition training loads," ministry specialists say.
Soon the remaining teams will depart for Japan and join the main part of Kazakhstan's delegation.
