Today the final competitions in mixed martial arts at the Asian Games are taking place. This was reported by the press service of the Sports Development Directorate of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports.
"Kazakh athlete Yerkіngali Burkitаlin met Bahrain's Mukhаmmed Nаbiyev in the final in the up to 77 kg weight category and won with a score of 3:0," the statement said.
MMA was included in the program of the Summer Asian Games, which are being held in Japan, for the first time.
Thus, the Kazakh national team's tally now includes 5 gold medals of the Asian Games.
The XX Summer Asian Games will continue until October 4.
The national team of Kazakhstan includes 558 athletes. They will compete for medals in 35 sports of the competition program.
