The Asia Triathlon Cup Astana 2026 international tournament will be held on June 20-21 at the Triathlon Park in Astana. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The large-scale competition will feature top triathletes from around the world and sports enthusiasts from all regions of Kazakhstan. Currently, over 270 athletes from 20 countries have registered for the event. Registration of participants is still ongoing.

"The prestigious competition will see representatives from Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Austria, Bangladesh, Brunei, Guam, Indonesia, Iran, Japan, Lebanon, Luxembourg, Mongolia, the United Arab Emirates, Palestine, Russia, Slovakia, Turkey, Uzbekistan, Finland, and the Czech Republic," the statement said.

The international tournament will be held in the Elite, Junior, Age Group, and paratriathlon categories. The judging panel includes a technical delegate, an assistant, a chief referee, and over 20 referees and assistants to ensure the competition meets international standards.

Hosting the Asia Cup stage in Astana contributes to the development of domestic triathlon, its integration into the international Olympic system, bringing the qualifications of referees and coaches in line with international requirements, and enhancing the competitiveness of the Kazakhstan national team on the international stage.
