The composition of Kazakhstan's women's boxing team for the 2026 Asian Games has been finalized. All athletes are in good spirits and injury-free. The team expects a successful performance at the Asian Games. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The roster includes:
- 01up to 51 kg — Alua Balkibekova;
- 02up to 54 kg — Nazym Kyzaibay;
- 03up to 60 kg — Viktoriya Grafeyeva;
- 04up to 65 kg — Aida Abikeyeva;
- 05up to 75 kg — Natalya Bogdanova.
Selection criteria
According to head coach Eldos Saidalin, the list was formed based on results from last year's World Championships and this season's World Cup stages.
On rivals
Saidalin noted that women's boxing in Asia is developing rapidly. He highlighted India and China as the main regional rivals.
Preparation plan
"Our team is currently holding a training camp in the USA. We return to Kazakhstan on August 4. After that, the athletes will train individually and rest a bit. The next camp starts on August 16, with teams from Russia and the USA participating. On September 9, we will head to Japan for the final stage of preparation. We will go through adaptation and prepare for the Games," the coach said.
