Kazakhstani weightlifter Ayanat Zhumagali became vice-champion of the 2026 Asian Games in the up to 77 kg weight category. She lifted 246 kg in total in the double event and brought Kazakhstan's team its first medal of the tournament in weightlifting. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Zhumagali's results

In the snatch, Zhumagali locked in 109 kg, while in the clean and jerk she handled a barbell weighing 137 kg. Thus, her total in the double event reached 246 kg.

Winners and medalists

The gold was won by China's He Renxiu – 258 kg (118+140). The bronze medal went to Reyhaneh Karimi of Iran, who totaled 243 kg (107+136).
