The plan for the return of agricultural land was exceeded in 2026. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
According to the Ministry of Agriculture, the annual plan was 1 million hectares, but 1.2 million hectares of agricultural land were returned.
“This year, territorial divisions conducted more than a thousand unscheduled inspections on an area exceeding 1 million hectares. As a result of the inspections, 715 orders were issued to land users to eliminate violations on a total area of 884 thousand hectares,” the statement says.
In addition, materials regarding the forced seizure of another 211 thousand hectares are under consideration by judicial authorities.
At the same time, the fulfillment of the annual plan does not mean that control measures will be stopped. In accordance with current legislation, work to identify violations of land use requirements continues.
Along with this, work is underway to redistribute the returned lands. As of early September 2026, the volume of redistributed land reached 13.5 million hectares.
Of this, 5.5 million hectares were transferred for common use by the local population for grazing, and 8 million hectares were provided to subjects of the agro-industrial complex on a competitive basis.
