The Central Election Commission of Kazakhstan has registered the party list of the Auyl party for the elections of Kurultai deputies scheduled for August 23, 2026. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The decision was made at the ninth meeting of the CEC within the election campaign. As reported by Secretary of the Central Election Commission Shavkhat Utemisov, the party submitted a list of 69 candidates.
"The Auyl party has nominated a party list consisting of 69 people. In accordance with the request of the Central Election Commission, authorized state bodies have verified the compliance of the persons included in the party list with the requirements. 29 candidates in the list are women, youth and persons with disabilities, which is 42%. The quota established by law has been preserved. All persons included in the party list meet the requirements of the Constitution and the Constitutional Law on Elections," Utemisov said.
He also reminded that, according to the Constitutional Law "On Elections," political parties that received at least 5% of the votes in the previous elections of Mazhilis deputies are exempt from paying the election deposit. Since the Auyl party received 10.9% of the votes in the elections of deputies of the Mazhilis of the VIII convocation, it does not pay the registration fee.
The meeting also considered the issue of accreditation of international observers. Deputy Chairman of the CEC Mukhtar Yerman reported that as of July 21, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs had submitted for accreditation another 10 observers from four states — Pakistan, Indonesia, Malaysia and Uzbekistan.
"As of July 21, 2026, the Central Election Commission has received from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for accreditation the candidacies of 10 observers from four foreign states," Yerman said.
After the approval of new candidates, the total number of accredited international observers reached 86 people. The CEC noted that this list will be updated as new proposals are received.
