The Ministry of Health explained the procedure for undergoing a free rehabilitation course in a hospital. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
Today, many patients do not know that medical rehabilitation can be obtained not only in specialized centers but also in their registered clinic. Medical rehabilitation services are provided within the framework of guaranteed free medical care and medical insurance.
With a referral from a local doctor, patients can undergo restorative treatment including physical therapy, physiotherapy, and other rehabilitation methods. The rehabilitation program is developed individually based on each patient's diagnosis, health condition, and personal needs.
Rehabilitation is especially important after stroke, heart attack, injury, or surgery and is considered a stage no less important than treatment. In Kazakhstan, medical rehabilitation is carried out in three stages:
- 01**Stage 1** – in the acute period of the disease (within the first 72 hours), during surgical interventions and injuries at the inpatient level.
- 02**Stage 2** – in the acute and early recovery period after illness or injury (within the first 6 months), as well as with residual manifestations of the disease in inpatient organizations using high-tech medical care.
- 03**Stage 3** – in outpatient clinics, day and round-the-clock hospitals, rehabilitation centers, and sanatorium-resort organizations.
In the Zhetysu region, the first mobile rehabilitation project for people with disabilities was launched (March 6, 2025).
