Weather forecasters predict increased air pollution on Tuesday, July 7, in seven cities of Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
Specialists of the Republican State Enterprise 'Kazhydromet' forecast unfavorable meteorological conditions (UMC) in Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Balkhash, Temirtau, Aktobe, Almaty, and Kostanay. These conditions contribute to the accumulation of industrial emissions and vehicle exhaust gases, leading to poor air quality.
Residents of these cities are recommended to: - Reduce time spent outdoors, especially near highways or other sources of pollution. - People suffering from chronic lung diseases, cardiovascular diseases, and allergic diseases should carry necessary medications when outdoors. - It is advised to close windows and perform wet cleaning indoors.
The forecast is for July 7, but weather conditions may change. Kazhydromet specialists continue monitoring and will update information if necessary.
Earlier, Kursiv reported that thunderstorms, heavy rains, and 41-degree heat will hit Kazakhstan from July 7 to 9. Such weather conditions may worsen air pollution, as high temperatures and calm weather facilitate the accumulation of harmful substances.
Deteriorating air quality is especially dangerous for children, the elderly, and people with chronic diseases. Health experts recommend staying indoors or using protective masks on such days.
According to Kazhydromet data, air pollution in major cities of Kazakhstan is mainly due to industrial enterprises and vehicle emissions. This year, several measures have been taken to improve the environmental situation, but under unfavorable meteorological conditions, pollution levels remain high.
Residents are advised to monitor air quality information on the official website of RSE 'Kazhydromet' or via mobile app. Local authorities also take special measures to inform the public if necessary.
