On September 24, unfavorable meteorological conditions are expected in Almaty and seven other cities of Kazakhstan, according to Kazhydromet. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
According to weather forecasters, NMU are predicted in Pavlodar, Aktobe and Almaty, and at night — in Kostanay, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Semey, Ridder and Astana.
What unfavorable weather conditions mean
Unfavorable weather conditions can occur during calm, weak wind, fog and temperature inversion. In such weather, pollutants accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, which can worsen air quality.
Pollution levels are also affected by precipitation, humidity and air temperature.

People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases are especially sensitive to air pollution.
Recommendations for residents
Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near busy roads and other sources of pollution. Children and pregnant women are advised to avoid long walks.
People with chronic diseases and allergies should carry necessary medications with them. Physical activity outdoors is best limited or moved indoors.
