On July 10, adverse meteorological conditions (NMC) are expected in seven cities of Kazakhstan, which may lead to deterioration of air quality. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

According to Kazhydromet, NMC are forecast in Kostanay, Kokshetau, Karaganda, Zhezkazgan, Temirtau and Almaty. At night, adverse weather conditions are expected in Astana.

As experts explained, adverse meteorological conditions occur when calm, light wind, fog and temperature inversion combine. As a result, pollutants accumulate in the surface layer of the atmosphere, leading to deterioration of air quality.

Weather forecasters warn that during such periods the risk of negative health effects increases, especially for people with chronic diseases.

The level of air pollution is affected by wind speed, precipitation, humidity and air temperature.

Residents are advised to reduce time spent outdoors, especially near roads and other sources of pollution. Children and pregnant women are advised to avoid long walks.

People with respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, as well as allergy sufferers, are recommended to carry necessary medications with them. Experts advise limiting outdoor physical activity and, if possible, moving classes indoors.

Earlier, Kursiv reported that on July 10, Kazhydromet forecasters predict extreme heat in several regions of Kazakhstan. In some areas, air temperatures will rise to +42 degrees, and thunderstorms, hail, squally wind, dust storms and extreme fire danger are also expected.
