US President Donald Trump said Washington agreed to continue negotiations with Iran at Tehran's request. According to him, the American side warned that the previously declared ceasefire is no longer in effect. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

Trump announced this on his Truth Social social network.

"The leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran asked to continue 'negotiations.' The US agreed, but made it clear that the ceasefire regime is definitely over," the US president wrote.

Recall that the US and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding on June 18, after which they began 60-day negotiations on the final settlement of differences. The next meeting of delegations took place on July 1 in Doha, where the parties agreed to create a permanent communication channel to discuss the implementation of the memorandum.

Negotiations were also scheduled for July 11, during which they planned to discuss the unfreezing of Iranian assets and a possible agreement on the nuclear program.

However, even after the signing of the memorandum, the parties repeatedly exchanged strikes, and from July 8, mutual attacks became almost continuous. Washington also reinstated oil sanctions against Iran and threatened a new blockade of ports.

Yesterday, it became known that Iran will transfer a plot in the port of the Strait of Hormuz to Kazakhstan, and that the IAEA is considering Kazakhstan as an option for storing Iranian uranium.
