Another deputy akim of Atyrau has come under criminal prosecution. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The National Security Committee confirmed to Kazinform that a pre-trial investigation is being conducted against Tilek Makhuyev.
Several days ago, information appeared on social media that the official is suspected of receiving a bribe of 100 million tenge. According to the disseminated data, the money was allegedly transferred for assistance in making changes in the interests of a company involved in the capital repair project of Atyrau's sewerage systems. Law enforcement agencies have not yet officially confirmed this information.
"We inform that a pre-trial investigation is being conducted. Other information is not subject to disclosure in accordance with paragraph 1 of Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code," the NSC statement said.
Meanwhile, this is already the second such case in the leadership of the Atyrau akimat recently. In June, Kursiv reported that the NSC is conducting an investigation against Atyrau deputy akim Meirzhan Mukasov.
According to the publication Ak Zhaiyk, within the framework of the same criminal case, the head of BURMONTAZHGROUP LLP is in custody. The publication, citing its own sources, reports that the alleged total amount of illegal remuneration could be 600 million tenge.
According to the media, before the detention, the first part — 100 million tenge — was transferred, after which NSC officers carried out the arrests.
However, official confirmation of this information from law enforcement agencies has not yet been received.
