Two women aged 38 and 39 in Atyrau started a live stream on social media with perfume advertisements and then claimed they were involved in terrorism. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
After the stream, Atyrau police identified them despite the bloggers' faces being covered. During the live broadcast, the women also claimed that the National Security Committee (KNB) allegedly knew about them. Both were taken to the police department.
According to the Atyrau Police Department, cases were opened for petty hooliganism, distribution of illegal content, and wearing clothing in public places that obstructs identification.
"A theologian took part in the conversation with the women. They were explained the requirements of the law and norms of public order. Social networks are not a space where legal requirements do not apply," the police warned.
The department emphasized that liability is also provided for illegal actions during live streams.
Earlier, "Kursiv" reported that in Pavlodar, the KNB detained a woman after a video address to Vladimir Putin calling for the introduction of Russian troops into Kazakhstan. It turned out that the blogger had previously been convicted of drug trafficking.
