In Atyrau, a worker who fell from scaffolding during the reconstruction of the railway station is in a coma. His condition is assessed as extremely serious, and the man is connected to a ventilator. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The accident occurred on October 15. A man born in 1984 fell from a height of about five meters. He was taken to the regional hospital. Another worker was also injured in the incident: after a medical examination, he was sent home.
According to the latest data from the publication Ak Zhayyk, the hospitalized worker's condition is complicated by cerebral insufficiency and spinal shock. Blood circulation remains unstable, and doctors are using special medications to support it.
On the fact of violating labor protection rules, the transport police department at Atyrau station opened a criminal case. The circumstances of the incident are being established. Police do not disclose other details, citing Article 201 of the Criminal Procedure Code.
The reconstruction of the station began in March 2026. The general contractor is Batys Alians Stroy LLP. According to Ak Zhayyk, Alash Construction LLP, registered in Aktau, is also working at the site.
The latter company was included in the register of unscrupulous participants in public procurement on October 7 based on a court decision dated September 24. The provided data does not state whether this decision is related to the work at the station.
Safety concerns at the construction site arose even before the incident. In July, KTZ representatives identified violations of labor protection requirements. Later, the regional akim instructed to speed up the reconstruction, increase the number of workers, and complete the work by October.
As Ak Zhayyk writes, at the time of publication, the akimat had not provided public explanations about the incident. It is not yet known whether the previously identified violations have been eliminated and who was responsible for the safety of the workers.
