Thousands of small livestock have died in the Sarykaska and Zheltau areas of the Zhylyoi district in the Atyrau region. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The incident occurred on June 2-3 due to adverse weather conditions. According to the regional akimat, specialists from the district veterinary service visited the site to determine the causes and assess the scale of the incident.
Based on the results of the investigation, it was found that 1,238 sheep and goats died on farms in the Kosshagyl rural district, the city of Kulsary, and the Maikomgen rural district. The preliminary cause is hypothermia due to prolonged exposure to rain.
