In the village of Afanasyeva in the Atyrau region, the death of 59-year-old security guard Klara Kenzhegaliyeva at the local medical station is under investigation. The woman was found dead on the facility's grounds near an electric generator. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The body was discovered by the deceased's son. A shovel lay nearby. Relatives said that on that day the woman had been clearing grass near the medical station. They suspect she may have been electrocuted, since there were allegedly burns on her body. However, the medical report named the cause of death as a cerebral hemorrhage.
The deceased's son, Adilbek Galymov, claims there were injuries on his mother's body resembling burns.
"They lifted her, examined her wrists, turned her over and looked at her back. There were burns on her back, meaning she was struck by electric current. The skin was torn off, the blood would not stop," the man said.
However, according to the family, the morgue named the cause of death as a cerebral hemorrhage. The woman's relatives disagreed with this conclusion.
"After that the examination issues: 'Cerebral hemorrhage.' I disagree with this diagnosis. Why then was her back burned?" said the deceased's brother, Sarsenbay Kenzhegaliyev.
Relatives had hoped that surveillance camera footage would help establish the circumstances of the death, but it turned out the equipment was not working.
The director of the Kurmangazy district hospital, Saida Zulkasheva, stated that the management had not instructed the security guard to clear grass near electrical equipment.
"No such order came from us. However, I heard an audio recording with the words: 'Keep the territory clean, clear the grass,'" she said.
According to Zulkasheva, a local nurse also stated that she had not given the woman instructions to clear the area near the transformer.
Kenzhegaliyeva's family appealed to the prosecutor's office and demanded a comprehensive investigation. The final cause of death and the circumstances of the incident are being established. The version of electric shock has not yet been officially confirmed.
