A pregnant woman was admitted to the Inder district hospital in Atyrau region with injuries. She was beaten by her husband, reports Sputnik Kazakhstan. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.
The incident was previously reported by KTK TV channel. The information was confirmed by the police department of Atyrau region. The victim said that her husband had raised his hand to her several times before.
On the day of hospitalization, the woman fled to a neighbor's house to save herself. An ambulance was called there.
"My husband prays, but that night he came home drunk. While I was saying 'Allah, Allah', my youngest daughter got up. They pretended to be asleep out of fear," the woman said.
According to the victim, a police officer who came to the hospital, instead of protecting her, urged her to "save the family."
The victim is a mother of three children and is currently pregnant with her fourth. The suspect has been detained.
"A criminal case has been opened, pre-trial investigation is underway. The suspect has been detained and placed in a temporary detention facility," the police department of Atyrau region reported.
Currently, necessary investigative actions are being carried out.
