Another village in the Atyrau region has given up alcohol: the village of Toman has become the 57th settlement to join the 'Alcohol-Free Village' initiative. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The village of Toman, located in the Isatai district, made a collective decision to refuse alcoholic beverages and became the 57th settlement in the region to join the 'Alcohol-Free Village' list.

"The village of Toman is one of the settlements where harmony and unity prevail. Over the past five years, not a single crime has been recorded on the territory of the village. This indicates the high legal culture of the residents, mutual respect and responsibility," said the Atyrau police.

The majority of the village's residents work in the railway industry. In addition, a school, kindergarten and cultural center operate steadily in the settlement, contributing to the social and cultural life of the residents.

The villagers are especially grateful to the local police inspector Yerbol Uzakbayev. According to them, the police officer closely interacts with the population and promptly responds to their requests and problems.
