Vladimir Cheburin has left the post of head coach of FC Atyrau by mutual agreement. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The Kazakh specialist worked with the team for five months. The club's press service confirmed that the contract was terminated by mutual consent.
"Our club thanks Vladimir Nikolaevich for his work, professionalism and contribution to the development of the team. The time spent together, victories and difficult moments will forever remain part of the club's history," the statement from Atyrau said.
Cheburin's record at Atyrau
Vladimir Cheburin took charge of Atyrau on March 6, 2026. Under his leadership, the team played 20 official matches, winning four, drawing ten, and losing six.
In the Kazakhstan Premier League, Atyrau played 19 matches under Cheburin, winning three, drawing ten, and losing six, earning 18 points. In the only match in the Kazakhstan Cup under the specialist, the team defeated Zhas Kyran 4:0.
New coach – Samat Smakov
The new head coach of the team will be former Kazakhstan national team captain Samat Smakov, according to AmanVIBE. The 47-year-old specialist is expected to arrive in Atyrau soon to sign a contract.
Previously, Smakov worked as head coach of Zhetysu and Elimai. Information about his appointment has not yet been officially confirmed by the club.
