A passenger died on a passenger train traveling from Atyrau to Aktobe. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The incident occurred on July 13 on train No. 691/692 on the Kandyagash-Aktobe section.

"According to the train chief's report, the deceased passenger boarded the train without a travel document. He was let on by a conductor of one of the carriages. On the Kandyagash-Aktobe section, the passenger's condition sharply deteriorated and he died. Preliminary information indicates the cause of death was a hypertensive crisis," said Passenger Transportation JSC.

According to the company, the air conditioning system in the carriage where the passenger was located operated normally, and the temperature regime was normal. This carriage was manufactured in 2023 by ZIKSTO JSC.

After the train arrived at Aktobe station, the body of the deceased was handed over to authorized authorities.

"On July 13, the Western branch of Passenger Transportation JSC conducted an internal service investigation into the incident. Based on its findings, labor contracts were violated by two conductors of the carriage and the train chief on the same day. The head of the Aktobe section and the industrial training instructor were subjected to disciplinary action in the form of a strict reprimand," said Kazakhstan Railways.

It was noted that strict disciplinary measures, up to termination of labor contracts, will also be taken against the management of the Western branch.

The transport police have opened a criminal case. According to the investigation results, the preliminary diagnosis is bilateral pneumonia, said the transport police department.
