Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov signed resolutions allocating over 16.2 billion tenge from the government reserve. The funds are directed at modernizing and developing the communal, engineering, and energy infrastructure of Astana. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
8.7 billion tenge is allocated for the construction and modernization of the capital's wastewater disposal system. The allocated funds will finance two key projects. The work is designed to ensure the removal of surface and drainage water from a catchment area of 4.5 thousand hectares, as well as the stable operation of treatment facilities with a capacity of about 70 thousand cubic meters per day.
7.5 billion tenge is allocated for the development of the city's energy system. This money will finance two facilities. The first is the construction of a closed substation 110/20 kV "Karlygash", which will be connected to existing power grids. The facility will reduce the load on the "Ishim" and "Baiterek" substations and provide electricity to about 80 thousand residents in the area of the "Nurly Zhol" station and the Telman residential area, as well as new schools and clinics. The second is the modernization of turbine unit No. 1 at CHP-2 of Astana-Energy JSC, as a result of which the electrical capacity will increase by 30 MW — from 80 to 110 MW, which should cover the growing electricity consumption in the city.
