This weekend, the festival "Altai — the golden cradle of the Turkic world" will be held in Katon-Karagai. Its headliner will be singer Dimash Kudaibergen. On social media, Kazakhstanis are sharing life hacks on how best to get to this tourist destination by car and what to visit along the way. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.
The akimat of the Katon-Karagai district is actively preparing for the festival. Stores have stocked a month's supply of food, and gas stations have a 10-day supply of gasoline. At the same time, guests of the event, especially locals, are asked to bring gasoline with them to avoid long queues at gas stations.
Regarding route selection, users recommend driving from Astana via Ust-Kamenogorsk in most cases — the road will be more scenic, albeit longer. However, there are also those who advise trying different routes.
"You can go both ways, one way on one road, the other way on another. But the Uka-Altai road is under construction in places, sections of the highway are not open, you have to take detours," one user wrote.
In the comments, even the akim of the Samar district of the East Kazakhstan region, Serik Zhenisov, noted. He invites users to drive through Samarka and swim in the Bukhtarma reservoir.
Another Kazakh woman detailed where else to stop on the way to Katon-Karagai. The girl suggests visiting the Bukhtarma reservoir, Altai, Berel, and Rakhmanov Springs.
"Speaking of the budget, for two people for 7 days the trip will cost about 450-550 thousand tenge. This amount included gasoline, accommodation, food, and entertainment," the traveler added.
Earlier, Kursiv LifeStyle wrote that entry to the festival "Altai — the golden cradle of the Turkic world" will be free.
