Turkish airline SunExpress is planning to open flights on the "Astana – Izmir" route. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Sputnik Kazakhstan.

The information was released by Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport. On 15 September, the Chairman of the Civil Aviation Committee of Kazakhstan's Ministry of Transport met with representatives of the Turkish airline SunExpress.

New route: Izmir – Astana

During the meeting, it emerged that SunExpress plans to launch regular flights on the new "Izmir – Astana" route.

"SunExpress airline plans to launch regular flights on the new "Izmir – Astana" route. Flights will operate twice a week – on Wednesdays and Saturdays – using Boeing 737 aircraft," the ministry said.

More flights on the Almaty – Izmir route

In addition, from 25 October the airline will increase the number of flights on its existing "Almaty – Izmir" route from 2 to 3 flights per week.

SunExpress is thus continuing to expand air links between Kazakhstan and Turkey.
