An Astana resident said on social media that around 21:00 he was returning from work with his pregnant wife when two unknown men began pursuing them, later called him by his first and last name, introduced themselves as military enlistment office employees and demanded that they follow them. This was reported by Qazaqyia.kz citing Kursiv Media.

The man explained that he has a certificate of unfitness for service, but the unknown men (who were later joined by a third) blocked their path.

When the pregnant woman began filming the incident on a mobile phone, the men started hiding their faces, and after she threatened to call the police, they quickly fled. The author of the post suggested that he had encountered a fraudulent scheme.

The capital's Department of Defense Affairs stated that the men in the scandalous video are not military enlistment office employees, and that raid activities are not currently being conducted in the capital.

The defense agency recalled that conscription is carried out officially: through SMS notifications from service 1414 or by delivering summonses at the place of residence and work. Identifying evading citizens is handled exclusively by the police.

Law enforcement agencies have already identified all three participants in the incident. Their actions will be given a legal assessment in accordance with the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
